Default JQuery

i would love to see Vivvo go to strictly Jquery for frontend. Prototype is great, but imho there are way too many jquery scripts being developed to ignore them.

im working on a Wordpress site right now, and i just have to say that the Vivvo backend is top notch. plus, great support. too much crap going on in the wordpress backend. vivvo is clean, and straight to the point.

i did a Modx site also, and the separate frontend from backend in regards to javascript libraries. so as a designer/developer, you have the choice to use which ever library you see fit. pretty cool.

Yes, you are absolutely right. jQuery will definitely be standard. I'm just not sure about idea of shipping two separate JS frameworks (both Prototype and jQuery), I think moving to jQuery in whole is much easier. Especially since there is basically no "developer" actions one usually takes on backend.

For the time being, I suggest you go with jQuery on front, just use this article as a reference to avoid conflict:

@ boccio

(1) has Vivvo tested noconflict jquery and video player on same page? It breaks video player in any case no matter what. if it happens on your inetrnal testing also then this needs a fix.

(2) Are there plans to migrate vivvo to jquery?

Regards

It's time for Vivvo to move away from prototype and migrate to jquery. Prototype is hardly having any visibility.

Any plans to move Vivvo from prototype to jquery?
Hope someone answers.
