I have a standard vivvo lisence

but Im unable to download the vivvo software

support tell me that I have to renew my lisence

to download the same thing that I have downloaded 6 months before /

so I m no with no software

no plugins

my license is really one fee time or just for six months ?

I understand I can not have access to updates until

Well they do have a right to charge you for being your own personal external storage device. It's your job to download the software and keep it on your server, or backup. Access to their bandwidth is not free, it's part of the support package.

Is this the way you tell a custmer

that he should renew or leave ?

Why custmers should pay for bandwith every six months

if they paid before the license ?

should we pay also the hosthing ?

First of all you aren't my customer. I pay for Vivvo just like you do. Secondly it's part of the agreement, and always has been. You get access to the downloads section when your account is valid. If you didn't read all of the information before you bought the software and come here and yell about it how is that my fault, or Vivvo's? I think it's reasonable to assume that if you are going to buy something as important as a CMS you would read the terms of service.

If you didn't understand part or all of the terms then it is still your responsibility to ask questions, and not buy before you understand what you are getting into.

For me it was worth it. You pay practically nothing for a renewal on a standard license it's $85 for A FULL YEAR. I have to pay $245 dollars for full year, so when I see someone yelling about standard license renewal fees I have to take time to show you that I have to pay a lot more and I would gladly trade your fee for mine

In closing, the bottom line is why should they let you download your old version forever just because you bought it? That means they have to store a snapshot of the program in your client area and keep track of that. Since they provide the newest versions of the software in the client area with very little administrative overhead, it makes more sense to have YOU store YOUR software on YOUR computer, instead of THEM storing YOUR software on THEIR computer.

The $85 renewal fee INCLUDES all the newest code, so you get your CMS upgraded as well. I honestly don't know what you are complaining about. That's like me being mad that the FORD dealer won't let me park my car on their parking lot. Then getting even madder because my car was stolen and I can't go get another one from them for free. I mean I already paid for the 2007 Ford Expedition. That's all I want. I don't want the 2009 or 2010 Expedition, just the 2007 one. I paid for 3 years ago. Just because I lost it, they have plenty on the lot, I should be able to go take it.

Your way to defend vivvo policy is not convincing

Im still a vivvo custmer and you know my english is bad , but this is not a reason to accuse me of of ignorance

vivvo is not my own personal external storage device
as long as they do not store my personal photos or my personal files .

what they are storing are their own stuff .

What make vivvo is not worthy
of company that respects its customers

rescpectable company like Vbulletin does not ask money to dowload things that you have paid before, and the bandwith justification is simply rediculous.

And instead of accusing me of not reading the contract you can recognize that vivo lie when claims that license is for all life

I did not setup any site, I have tried the software in local

And when I tried to setup my live site I was surprised to see

that I have no access to dowload center .because I did not renew the contract !

I do not know what is this if it is not scamming

I do not think that you are interested to know the truth

More than your interest in my criticism.

and Im not interesting any more in the vivvo software if I have

to accept such condition; or to accept injuries

when we ask for what we paid for.

I think we have a communication problem. My intent was not to make you feel defensive, it was to illustrate (with humor) that what you were accusing Vivvo of doing was not fair.

It sounds like you got access to download the software, and you didn't keep a copy of it. You waited to long and now you want to get a copy but you can't because you don't have access to the client area which is a PAY FOR ACCESS area that expires when your support expires.

So I think you are being unreasonable, and I think you illustrate your unreasonable behavior by using the word "Scam" which is a very damaging word. They didn't "Scam" you. Yet you use the word "Scam". I don't understand people like you that come to the forum and complain about not getting access after you paid. You act like the powers that be should stop everything, and create a custom client area just for you because you PAID money.

Everyone else paid money too. We have to follow the terms of the agreement, and we have to pay to access the client area, then we have to pay ONCE a year to maintain access to the client area AND get tech support, latest updates, and upgrades.

This isn't good enough for you. Because you are special. You PAID $99 if you got it on sale, I paid $1000. I have to continue to pay every year and I'm not complaining because I read the terms of service. I will pay the renewal fee of $245 every year and continue to enjoy my Vivvo.

You say Vivvo lies because the license isn't for lifetime. Of course it is. You have the right to run it forever just like you have the right to back it up on a cd and install it when you need it. What you don't have a right to do is store your copy of the software YOU bought on Vivvo's client area forever unless you PAY them to do it. Is that different than some of the other companies out there? Yes, but that's the great part of running your own company, you get to decide what you want to do and then you go out and do it.

I honestly think you can't be so slow. I think you have to be someone from another CMS company that comes in here and griefs, uses the word "Scam" and tries to get people to go to their CMS.

I wouldn't be surprised if your next post isn't something like this "Forget Vivvo, I pay and they want me to keep paying. I switch to PHPCow is much better".

Please stop griefing in the forums, no one wants to read it. After all why would you post in public that you can't access the client information unless you wanted to grief the forums? No one in the forum can help you get access to the client area, so if your intention was NOT to cause trouble here, and was simply to get the files you needed you would have sent a Private Message to one of the staff, or emailed support.

Instead you come in here throwing around your story of how you spent MONEY to get PROGRAM and you got scammed.

Then you get mad at me because I call you on it. Next time don't discredit yourself by using the word "Scam" or "Vivvo Lied" or "Respectable Company like vBulletin" (implying that Vivvo is then not respectable). I've been dealing with them for over a year now, and I think they are extremely respectable, they've given me WAY more than I paid for in the way of value and support, and I think I'm showing that by my willingness to defend them against people like you. vBulletin is a much larger company and can afford to do a lot of things that other small companies can't.

P.S. I'm ex-php cow customer and they suck. Vivvo really bailed me out of a lot of problems that phpcow got me into.

Kalil, I do understand your problem and frustration. What I do not understand is that you accuse us for conducting poor business just because we don't do something you assumed we should do on your own without anything to back that up.

It is very clearly and transparently written all over our website that you get 6 months of free support, upgrades and access to the Client Area and Resource Center for downloads, and after that 6 months you need to renew at $85 per year if you want to continue using these services. If not, nobody stops you from using Vivvo until the end of the world - the license is lifetime and it will not stop operating.

Once again, I'm deeply sorry about your situation, but we simply cannot distinguish our Client Area between "old" licenses and patches you paid for, and new ones you didn't pay for. Either you do have valid license subscription and can download assets from our servers or you don't. As simple as that.
