Verifying google with html or meta tag?

Can someone advise me on how to go about adding either a meta tag or html code to verify my site?

I had been verified but then lost it with the upgrade to 4.1.

What's easiest -- adding a meta tag in the css template in the Vivvo cpanel or uploading html code?

easiest way is to add the meta tag to the /system/html_header template
