Default Vivvo 4.1 Release Candidate 1 released!

Today, we are releasing Vivvo 4.1 Release Candidate 1 (build 3316) version for the public download.

The version 4.1 includes important performance, stability and security improvements to the Vivvo Framework. As speed is crucial to the success of news and media websites, the new release comes with significant boosts in performance and page generation time.

Vivvo 4.1 features major improvements and new features that bring it closer to enterprise-level publishing, such as Role-based User Manager with multiple groups per user, hi-performance caching system (completely rewritten), and much more.

Furthermore, a range of usability improvements have been made thanks to the always valuable feedback from our community! You made it very clear that Vivvo’s greatest power comes from being very simple yet very powerful – so we kept moving in that direction.

You can see all the new features of 4.1 in this thread.

Vivvo 4.1 RC1 is available for download from the Clients Area to all customers with active licenses and subscriptions.

I can't unzip the upgrade version. I could unzip the full version but not the upgrade. Anybody else having the same problem? I am running on Mac OSX but I don't think that's a problem.

All relevant information regarding Release Candidate and upgrade are contained in Readme.txt file.

For those of you with custom templates, make sure to apply the changes to front-end tpl's carefully. This is not mandatory for upgrade process, but not doing so will result in lack of front-end improvements 4.1 brings. You can see what has been changed in front-end templates here:

I installed RC on localhost, works great so far! My first question, when will the vBulletin bridge available? I thought it will be part of the core package, but I don't see it in the core, neither in the downloadable plugins section.

Thanks Boccio. I knew that you were going to provide extensive list of modifications to the templates and themes. I will get me a couple cans of Red Bull and start working. I am on GMT -5. By the time you wake up... you will find a list of things that I might be having problem with (If any). Good thing for the Vivvo team that some of us are testing RC1 on a live site.

Red Bull? If I were in your shoes, you'd find me glued to Johnny Black Label...
