Today, we are releasing
Vivvo 4.1 beta2 version for the public download.
For the very first time you will be able to see the new version of Vivvo which has been in development for the past nine months and which will further strengthen Vivvo's position as the fastest growing news publishing platform on the market today.
The version 4.1 includes important performance, stability and security improvements to the Vivvo Framework. As speed is crucial to the success of news and media websites, the new release comes with significant boosts in performance and page generation time.
Vivvo 4.1 features major improvements and new features that bring it closer to enterprise-level publishing, such as Role-based User Manager with multiple groups per user, hi-performance caching system (completely rewritten), and much more.
Furthermore, a range of usability improvements have been made thanks to the always valuable feedback from our community! You made it very clear that Vivvo’s greatest power comes from being very simple yet very powerful – so we kept moving in that direction.
Finally, we can promise you that the search engines will love the new Vivvo a whole lot more
Vivvo 4.1 beta2 is available for download from the Clients Area to all customers with active licenses and subscriptions. Upgrade from 4.0.x version is not available at this moment, as this is only a clean install version. Upgrades from 4.0.x version will be available with the first 4.1 RC (Release Candidate) version.
Main Requirements:
As outlined in the
End-of-Life announcement posted earlier, this version of Vivvo will require at least PHP 5.x to run properly. Other requirements are pretty much the same as for 4.0.x version, though we highly recommend using at least MySQL 4.1.x , and MySQL 5.x if you’re seeking higher-end performance.
Template Changes:
We tried to keep template changes to a minimum and only a small number of templates have been changed. Please note that some Vivvo users with custom templates may need to carefully integrate the changes into the existing templates in order to take full advantage of all new features and improvements while keeping their original designs.
A complete list of the customized/new templates will be available with the first RC (release candidate) version.
Bug Reports:
Please, post all bug reports to our public
