Default Can not FTP Files in Video Folder

hi there,

I have installed the video beta, but when I try to ftp files to the created videos folder, I received an error from my ftp client.

I deleted the folder, and create a video folder under the file directory, and I was able to upload file.

However, when try to add videos to my article, no videos showed while browsing the videos folder.

Any idea why the video folder does not let me upload file from my machine? Also, why I do not the videos when try to pick them from the folder.

I'm using Window vista.

thanks

Casanova_tech.

Which files did you uploaded?
Did you read readme.txt file (about supported types)?

Shketuljko,

thanks for your insights that I had helped in sort to solve the problem. I have solved the problem.

Here is how:

The steps below should fix the problem

1) Log into your server via your ftp client, rename the folder " video" located under files from your VIVVO ROOT by something else
- Video is the folder that is automatically created while installing the video plug-in
2) Now create a new folder called " video" under the files folder using the ftp client. You should be able to upload your videos file to this folder.
3) For the file extension, only .flv worked for me. When browsing this directory from your admin area, the video picker only sees the files with .flv. It's the format for flash video.

4) May the force be with you ( : )

PS. I definitely think that the folder issue, it's a bug. Hopefully, the Vivvo kings will do something about it soon.

@Casanova_tech and @t

can you check with your server administrator does `mkdir` php function work properly, because `mkdir` function is used by script when it creates video directory.

Shketuljko,

I check my server side mkdir php function is enable and works.
-------------------------
[root@host ~]# php -i | grep disable_functions
disable_functions => no value => no value

PHP works under apache user privileges (sometimes nobody or www-data) and that user is the owner of newly created folder.
