Default (more) forum integration

So, after many posts, I have learned that it's difficult to truly integrate Vivvo with a forum other than using a iframe. I'm speaking visually, of course, since you can integrate the user database with a bridge.

Would it be much easier to replicate the Vivvo header, footer, and boxes into the forum instead (to retain visual continuity across the site)? I've already read here about putting boxes into non-Vivvo areas so that works, but what about the header?

I planned on using the horizonatal (DHTML) menu for navigation. Is there a way I can pull the header, including the dynamic DHTML menu, into the forum header area? No forum software in particular, since this should apply to any non-vivvo root directory.

If I could pull boxes, header, and footer (dynamically) from Vivvo and insert this into a forum header, it would appear totally integrated.

Have a look at ours here:

http://www.skyuserclan.co.uk/ < vivvo

http://www.skyuserclan.co.uk/forum/ < Forum with sort of Vivvo feel

That was real easy to get like that.

Looks good! But I think you didn't use dynamic Vivvo menus on the forum side, right? You just duplicated the look/feel and put it into the forum.

So anyone have any ideas how to pull the Vivvo header, complete with DHTML menu, into a non-vivvo page? I tried a few things but they didn't work. Not as easy, it seems, as pulling a box.

Oh, to clarify:

index.php?template_output=box/header, in a browser, pulls the header just fine (tested this). But I also tried a PHP include in the forum template but no go.
