Search on Google for "mint" or "piwik" but if you ask me Google Analytics' revamped interface (particularly real-time section) does a very good job.

Like a lot of people, client has become paranoid about anything Google . . .

However the piwik dashboard looks much smarter than last time I looked, so will give it a spin.
