Default Migrating data from trial version to new Pro Version

I used the trial version and populated data and made template changes that I want to preserve for my new Pro version that is on a DIFFERENT domain but attached to the same physical mySQL server computer.

How do I successfully migrate all of this?

I've made a clean Vivvo Pro install on the new domain with a new mySQL database (didn't want to risk overwriting the trial data)

I'm not sure what to do next to make this successfully work. It doesn't seem as simple as changing the database variables in the config file - that gives me a license problem. When I copy over my custom template folder and point to it it doesnt seem to work either.

Is there a published procedure for this?

The safest is easiest way is the following:

To your old site ->
1. Go to maintenance -> create DB backup and then download the DBbackup file (A)
2. Do a back up via FTP to your /files folder (to get the images and files)
3. Make a back up of the /template (if you have made any change to your templates) and /themes (if you have made any change to the CSS theme)

To the new site ->
1. Make a new clean installation to the new domain - folder
2. upload via FTP the DB backup file (A) to /backup folder
3. upload/overwrite via FTP the /files folder from your old site
4. upload/overwrite via FTP the /templates and /themes folders from your old site
Go to maintenance -> and make restore database.

Cross your fingers and "Before do anything BACK UP everything"

Thanks for the prompt and detailed response - exactly what I was looking for. However, one problem - my trial has now expired and I can't get into maintenance to do a DB backup. Is there another way to do that?

First of all - thanks for purchasing Vivvo after trying out the trial version, I hope you'll be happy with it

With regards to the license, if you entered new (pro) license when installing on different domain, you should be fine. But if you copied over old conf.php file, this probably messed with the license - check that and if necessary copy over the pro license in conf,php file.

You can migrate the data and templates to your new installation by following these steps.
1. Import the database (articles) to your new server. Go to Control Panel -> Maintenance -> Create backup, and then FTP that backup to the new server. It should be located on VIVVO_ROOT/backup. Then, just restore the database on new server.
2. Copy entire /files folder from old to new server. This will restore your uploaded files and images.
3. Copy /templates folder if you want to migrate templates to new version. Alternatively, you can copy only .tpl or .css files you played with, but if you aren't feeling comfortable with this and want to be on the safe side - copy everything

This should do it... Let us know if you run into any issues.

Transfer your DB via phpMyAdmin.

Or
if you dont had any articles, comments or users e.t.c. to your old site and you want to keep only the templates and layout is not necessary to transfer the DB.

Edit conf.php and enter the proper license inside. See if it works.

okay - I did a clean install and then imported the previous database (only database, I'll deal with templates, etc. later) and the data on the Website is great - but when I log into Admin it tells me I have an invalid license key. I checked the conf.php file and the license key is the correct new one I puchased.

Now what?!
