Rewrite Rule for legecy URLS ..

Hey Guys (and Gals),

are there any Rewrite experts out there?

I've got some URLS from my legecy site that are indexed on search engines that I want redirected to vivvo articles and need to know what rewrite rules/conditions are needed to be added to the .htaccess ..

ie..

LEGECY URL: www.domainname.com/filename.html
vivvo URL: http://www.domainname.com/how/advice...or-travel.html

LEGECY URL: www.domainname.com/articles/article/10545
vivvo URL: http://www.domainname.com/how/advice...or-travel.html

any suggestions?

Try to add these lines in your htaccess file:

RewriteRule ^filename\.html$ how/advice/10545-required-docs-for-travel.html [L]
RewriteRule ^articles/article/10545$ how/advice/10545-required-docs-for-travel.html [L]

that is what I tried to begin with and neither one worked.. any other ideas?

This can be done, just extract ID and pass it on to search_id in Vivvo. Should be something like:
www.new-vivvo-domain/index.php?search_id=10545

just add that single Rule to your .htaccess and it should do the trick.
