Related Articles Question

I have almost 9000 articles in my database and when I go to maintenance and click the link to relate the articles it only builds exactly 4500 records in the "related" table. Certainly, it can't be compiling a list for all of the articles.

Also, the related articles list doesn't even show up on the article page (I've checked that the "related_news.tpl" is included and that the option is switched on).

Any ideas on how I can get this feature to work?

UPDATE -

When I looked through the database I picked an article that was in the "related" table and viewed it on site. The tags showed up.

So now the problem is it only indexes 4500 records and only a small portion of all of the articles, and most of the articles it indexed were the oldest so any new articles don't show up.

Any more ideas?

Ideally, if it could build the entire table - that would be the solution.
