In which version? I use v4.1.6 and there's no problem with the auto-complete system. Even tags as old as 3 years appear. You should never have upgraded :p

Recently I've switched my website to members only, i.e. guests can't read the full articles but only the abstract. But I've been wondering... won't this penalise me on Google? Because Googlebot won't...

Thanks a lot for your help Micha. It was indeed the GD Library that was missing. Could not believe it. So I just used EasyApache in WHM to recompile PHP with GD.
