I would like to know wether it is possible for each user to modify only own topics,i.e user1 should be able to made modifications only in the news of his own category1.

How I can category1 attached to folder1 and then manage user right for this folder? Is it posible?

You can create user group "Editor for Category1", and allow it edit privilege for that particular category. As a result, every user belonging to that user group will have the privilege for editing this category.

How about extending privileges to a folder within the files directory linked to a category in a user group?

At the moment the only option is to allow "upload", but this gives access to all folders. It would be great if we could limit this also to a particular directory so a contributor can load images to a specified directory(s) as defined in a user group.
