Headlines word number

Hi,

Is that possible to change the headline word limit with a character limit? I dont mean the word number. I mean, It should be not a word. Its better to use character number for that.

Because, If in a news headline is 20 long words, the headline resizing.

been thinking about this too. I looked in the code, but my skill is so very limited that i could not change the word to character, but that would be an excellent idea.

So lets say there is a 100 character limit of lates news, we dont have to end on the character 100, but instead we end with the closest word to a 100. So for example it wont end with "i know you lov..." but it will either end with "i know you..." or "i know you love...", the closest word to 100 characters.

I know PHP has this function somewhere :)

If this is possible what you say, would be better. If no one has a answer for this question, I dont hope for a solution...
