template trouble (placing categories)

Hi can anyone know how i can put a certain categorie in a template...

like the functions of the {BLABLA} things...

I made for example a new categorie (for the articles) "todays news"
Is there something like {TODAYSNEWS} or something?

You can create categories from your administration Control Panel.
Control Panel >> Category management >> Add new category/subcategory.

The category you create will be visible on frontend either in sections box on the left side or in top level menu, or both (depend on which navigation style you choose from your administration).

You can create new template copies and use those in the specific categories. You weill need to edit them in something like dreamweaver. This will only change your layout, not sure how you would be able to show one category on this page but not on the others if you are using the standart news tools.

What you can do is just remove all the side blocks for more news etc. in this template and just keep the short news for this category in the middle block.

My suggestion would be: in admin make a new category template, name it your category. Loaad this new template (ctg_yourcategory.tpl) in dreamweaver and see what happens if you remove some of the SIDE box tags like {more_news} etc.

yes its working very well.this is what I want to do and with this you can do whatever you want except a photo gallery :) it would be great to find a photo gallery hack for vivvo.
