Hi everyone;

If you want to create an IE or Firefox toolbar for your readers (grabs news via RSS from your site), there is a great free resource by Conduit.

www.conduit.com

I'm not agent or nothing but I thought I'd share here as this keeps your readers coming to your site.

I hope it useful to you guys. :D

Good one. Did you try it yourself? Can you show it, or screenshot of it?

You can have a look at the one I made for my site @
http://voxnews.ourtoolbar.com/

To see it in action you would need to install it or create your own - its quite easy. There are many other features which I have not included.

have fun :)

Gus is right, this is a nice service and they provide a clean spamm / button/ add free download page for your users with several subdomain options.

There is some build in trickery to get you to their site in the end but its nicely hidden. Don't expect people rushing to install though, so far I got 9 installs out of it over 2 months time. This from a pool of over 300.000 site visits.

You really need to add something very specific and unique to make it worth the download.

Oh the nice feature is: you can have it pull RSS news and info from your site into a news ticker and news dropdown menu. But the big question you have to ask yourself: why would anyone pick your toolbar over google or yahoo.

Probably not, unless it can provide some meaningful tools/services for frequent and loyal visitors of your site. Alerts, new stories on flagged topics, etc, etc.

But I'm afraid this is out of the scope for free toolbar generator like that one :)
