Twitter Updater plug-in
This plug-in will automatically update your Twitter status with your most recent published articles, which will save valuable time spent in manual updating. You have the option to turn the auto update on/off for the different categories in the admin panel.

The plug-in is completely free and available for download to all Vivvo users with valid license subscription.

I just installed the plug-in followed all instructions and I'm getting this when I try to access the plug-in:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_multi_init() in /home/socal09/public_html/plugins/twitter/lib/EpiCurl.php on line 24

What do you think is the problem?

problem is that you do not have cURL extension installed (or it is disabled).

as you can see on the Twitter Updater page (http://www.vivvo.net/resources/dload/plugins/twitter-updater.html) requirements are:

Vivvo version:
4.1.5+

PHP version:
5.1.2+ (with cURL and hash extensions)

So my host company did the updates and now I'm getting this error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get_category_id() on a non-object in /home/socal09/public_html/plugins/twitter/hooks/twitter.php on line 71

Not sure what I'm still missing? The plug in installs fine, I can authorize the application and select categories.

This is fixed in 0.2 beta version of plugin which is now available for download.

Everyone who installed previous version (0.1 beta) should upgrade (no need to reinstall plugin, just overwrite files)

Thanks to everyone who have tried this plugin and reported problems (all reported problems have been fixed and now plugin seems solid enough to go out of beta stage, but we will wait a little bit more just in case...).

I've installed the plug-in and all went well on Twitter. I got all the way to clicking "Allow Vivvo CMS access", then when I'm redirected back to Vivvo, I get this fatal error:

I have intstalled twitter plugin, it worked well in the beginning.
I click authorize twitter account from vivvo admin.
I click "allow" from twitter page.
but http://www.hakimiyetimilliye.org/plugin-twitter-callback?oauth_token=JABU4d4....
page is not found on the server.
What should I do?

Nothing I did, Berto. I just tinkered with it and kept re-setting up the app and when I came back to work the next day, it had fixed itself.

I tinkered and tinkered, got it working, it posted one update. Then the next day the update it posted was gone, and no updates ever again. It's still setup correctly, with the right secrets, and all that jazz... I have no idea what's up with this plugin, but I honestly believe it still needs a lot of work which is why I believe it is still a beta ;)

This plugin is great stuff. Is there a way to make it update not only articles added manualy but those imported by feed importer?
It only add to twitter those articles I add manualy. I even try editing those already imported by feed importer but doesnt add them when i click save.

One problem I have found with this plugin is that it posts articles to your twitter account that you have scheduled for a later date. I often post my content a few weeks early for my site and when I do I have to go and remove the twitter posts.

A lot of people are getting this error it seems. Is there something we should be doing? I get it too.

This Plugin has got two problems:

1. As ChefTalk mentioned before, if you post an article with a future publishing date, the article will be publish in twitter the same moment you hit the "Save" button.
2. If you work on an article and save it first in a "Pending" status, then the article will be never publish in twitter, no matter what you do after.

These are major flaws in this pluggin and make it no usefull at all.

But i think that the following will do what you want.

Go to plugins/twitter/hooks/twitter.php file and find arround line 84 the following$tweet = $article->get_title() . ' - ' . $article->get_abstract();


and replace it with:
$tweet = $article->get_title();

I think that this will work ;)

If the plugin isn't working for you, you can use TwitterFeed (http://twitterfeed.com)(its free) and accomplish this.

At the bottom of your Vivvo site you should see a link labeled RSS / Atom.

Use that link in your TwitterFeed setup and it will post your info to your Twitter Account automatically.
