I don't know of one readily available, however, it wouldn't be to tough to customize vivvo to do a nice Real Estate Site.. a combo of custom article fields and customizing the Review Plugin would do it very nicely. I've built a few straight up Real Estate Portals, so I know whats involved lol

Thanks bobster65. Well I use vivvo to manage news and articles on my property/real estate development website, and I need a professional script for Real Estate agencies profiles management, listing properties for sale/rent under the appropriate agent's profile/page, Google maps integration and advanced search capabilities. I thought someone might have seamlessly integrated something similar with Vivvo-based website.

Though my requirements are beyond custom fields, but I agree with you that custom fields could add more power to vivvo sites, however the lack of detailed documentation and examples on this rarely-used feature makes me quite reluctant to dig into it, fearing to mess things up in my database

ya, don't blame ya for not wanting to mess anything up. I've been customizing on it for over a year now so I am fairly confident knowing what I can and can't get away with.. and yes, it goes beyond custom article fields, I just didn't fully write out what all would be involved (custom user types/Profiles for Agents, Agencies etc, Custom Property Display Modules, Maps, Custom Property Search etc... ). It IS doable, but it would be a fairly large undertaking and it would have to be done by someone that really knows how to customize vivvo and thinks outside the box... I know I could do it, but its not something I would take on for free.

How many real estate agents currently work in Ontario? I need to know how many real estate agents are currently working in Ontario year 2008. Can anyone give me precise stats on this?

I know several Real Estate folks in America that would be very interested in a Vivvo Real Estate Add-In.

Oh, really? :)

We're aware of potential of that market, and for a while discuss "classifieds" extension that would cover real estate among other things. This would require having slightly more "elastic" content entity than Vivvo currently has, which is the reason we didn't do this yet. Of course, you can have this even now, "quick'n'dirty" with custom fields and a bit of template design, but that's just not it...

all it takes is a little thinking outside the box with tools available in core vivvo and some of the free addons.

Exactly, for a hack :) For a more robust solution you'd need flexible content item entity, perhaps via XML-like structure... Searching via custom fields is a pain in the ass, and resource hog, imagine having 400,000 records you want to search via non-indexible custom field

As long as you make the addon that turns farts into gold I'm down with whatever you wanna do!

True.. it comes down to the size of the data structure that one is looking to do. A real estate company that would have 400,000 properties would have enough money to create their own custom portal from the ground up, however, a small real estate company could for a very decent price create a CMS/Portal based on core vivvo without any code modification (minor code addition yes, but code modification no).. and with minor tweaks (mainly cosmetic with some code addition) to various free addons available..

I'd LOVE to see the addition of flexable content items... let me know when you get it done :p
