Can Vivvo be installed in the root with vBulletin without any conflicts? I have a site with vBulletin already operating in the root, but do not want to move it when I install Vivvo.

I don' think so. They need to operate in different directories. You can move Vivvo to sub-dir if you want vB to operate in root.
