Plugins Help Needed

I have installed 3.4 Developer

I am trying to use the links plugin.

I installed plugin in plugins directory

I ran installer, I went to the admin interface and added a caterory.

I went to the header.tpl and added the {PWP_LINKS_LINK}
Then I save it and go to the main page, and nothing, can't be seen I tried putting {PWP_LINKS_LINK} all over the place, I created one sample category in the interface but not sure what I am doing wrong. Not sure if it is me or a 3.4 bug, does someone have a working sample to show how it should work? I have an open ticket with support and they tell me I don't have the plugin installed, it is obviously installed or I would not have the interface in the admin, so am not getting any help that way.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
