Please support the war on IE6 campaign. IE6 is dragging you and your web site users back. IE6 is a thing of the past.

Several large websites in Norway have launched an advocacy campaign urging Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 users to upgrade their outdated web browsers.

Read more about it : http://blog.wired.com/business/2009/02/norwegian-websi.html
Or follow it on twitter: http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23IE6

To join this campaign add this code to your homepage:

<vte:include file="{VIVVO_TEMPLATE_DIR}box/war_on_ie6.tpl" parse="off" />

This will show the following message only to your IE6 users:

Did you know that your browser is out of date?

To get the best possible experience using our website we recommend that you upgrade your browser to a newer version. The current version is Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8 is available as a beta. The upgrade is free. If you’re using a PC at work you should contact your IT-administrator.

If you want to you may also try some other popular Internet browsers like Opera, FireFox or Safari

FYI: more than 30% of CSS and JS development time is spent making Vivvo work just in IE6.

war_on_ie6.tpl template can be found in attachment

Do something for your web site.

IE7 is almost the same s**t as IE6 was, it just have few css bug fixes (and few new bugs, of course), on the other hand IE8 is what IE7 should be, but it's still far away from WebKit or Gecko...

I haven't seen many differences except new bugs (more job for the exterminator crew). IE6 is a program that is totally divorced from reality, therefore... we should disintegrate it :p

millkins don't be so hard on IE6 :)
I hate it too, but it's fact that it was best browser of its time, problem is that it's just too arhaic to be used today.
