Today, we are releasing Vivvo 4.1 Release Candidate 2 (build 3352) version for the public download.

Amongst other minor fixes, this version should fix issues with Flash Uploader (http://www.vivvo.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4374).

The version 4.1 includes important performance, stability and security improvements to the Vivvo Framework. As speed is crucial to the success of news and media websites, the new release comes with significant boosts in performance and page generation time.

Vivvo 4.1 features major improvements and new features that bring it closer to enterprise-level publishing, such as Role-based User Manager with multiple groups per user, hi-performance caching system (completely rewritten), and much more.

Furthermore, a range of usability improvements have been made thanks to the always valuable feedback from our community! You made it very clear that Vivvo’s greatest power comes from being very simple yet very powerful – so we kept moving in that direction.

You can see all the new features of 4.1 in this (http://www.vivvo.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3971) thread.

Vivvo 4.1 RC2 is available for download from the Clients Area (https://www.vivvo.net/orders/client_login.php) to all customers with active licenses and subscriptions.

Is there anything in the way of an upgrade from RC 1 to RC 2? Or can we get some info on how do that? :)

Can I just copy the files over the old ones? Or do I use the Installer? WHOOT... Thanks for doing this on Thanksgiving (in the US - Major Holiday) I want to play with this and my wife is going to kill me if I don't go to my in-laws for this holiday! I'll be sleeping on the couch for a week because of you guys!!

LOL

Yes, just overwrite the files. There is no upgrade procedure or anything.

Yes you guys do truly blue-ly own! :) I'm so very excited about the new features that I've seen in the Release Candidate so far. I can't tell you how much I've been looking forward to our expansion and without your software and your terrific support it would not have been possible at all.

Is there any patch to update from rc1 to rc2 ?

I mean have you pack only the files that changed from rc1 to rc2 and not all the 4.1 package ?

It would be helpful :)

Hey look, don't tell me about sleeping on the couch, at least you're not sharing it with the dog :D

Just copy all the files, to be on the safe side. Of course, no need to overwrite templates/themes, cache and files...

Help! I had 4.1 installed and working well. Then, I moved over all of the files for the 4.1 rc2, and it told me to do the installer again, which I did, but now, it won't let me login to the admin panel?

It gives me the login page, but no matter how many times I put in my username and password, it just goes back to the admin page.

Boccio I understand that, but my problem is that i have made some changes to some files (due to some problems or customization that i had) and i don't mean templates and themes but core files.
So if these files did not changed to rc2 i dont want to overwrite them. I think you get my point ;)

More than this it should be very helpful to have a change log so to know what files changed and for what reason.

PS for a quick view that i made (with reference the date modified) it should not be many files

haha what are you talking about man we have TWO DOGS!! lol I'm screwed! Actually I'm not, my wife was doing her make up (why I have no idea) and I got the upgrade off in about 5 minutes.

All I did (for others reference) was copy the files over for everything except templates, themes, and conf.php file. I went into the /admin/templates/article_edit/options.* file and changed the author name issue ( Boccio you guys should fix that officially BTW, it looks a lot better with the full name under the article instead of the login name).

Then I set the permissions on the directorys again and presto it was upgraded. The uploads work again for images :) Gotta love it

I think you overwrote your configuration file as well (conf.php in ROOT). Guess you need to do installation process again now.

Yeah, I did. I also went through the installation process again. What's weird is that the admin panel will load in Firefox, but not in IE. It just keeps bringing me back to the login screen.

I just did a fresh instation of vivo 4.1rc2. Installation was successful but none of the themes out there seem to work for me. Here is how Theme 4021 displays for example:

Just done a fresh install over at thinkteen.co.uk - but admincp will not load. I can login via FrontEND, but I can't even see the backend. only a white page - looks like I'll have to turn PHP errors on to see...

EDIT:

otice: Undefined variable: output in /home/site/public_html/lib/vivvo/framework/full_page_cache.functions.php on line 48

Notice: Undefined variable: uncached_boxes in /home/site/public_html/lib/vivvo/framework/full_page_cache.functions.php on line 48

on the frontend, but nothing on the backend... :(

Sounds like you didn't get all the files copied over. Remember when you copy the files over you need to put it in AUTO mode so it switches from Binary when it needs to... otherwise the files may not copy correctly.

Also make sure your permissions are set right.

Do you know if the last release it is compatible with the One´s template?

Yes it is compatible but you need Accordion Plugin which has not been updated, It will be release soon (Alex said it) :p

I have tested it locally and online, works perfect, only needs Accordion plugin to make my site public :(
