Rotation box. News only from a specific category

Is it possible to draw news articles only from a specific category in to the Headline Rotation Box, not just any new articles published on the site?
(For example - if I have a "News" category on the website and only wish to rotate those articles, not others.)

I think there's no other way then to select checkboxes for the articles you'd like in headline box and select "Set as Headline"
