I thought it would be fun to see more examples of vivvo websites, so i opened this thread.

I am very curious to see what other people using vivvo did with their ideas, and how far did they go.

Do you have success with your v site? Share your link :D

Yeah I'm not interested in putting my sites up here, not because I'm ashamed of them, but because I'd rather not have to worry about my conduct on the board <grin> and how it affects me professionally.

I'm sure a lot of people are like that.

:) usually, people create their sites to show them, but.. i understand. This thread was a bad idea, right? =)

No not at all! LOL Just for me :) I tend to like to say what is on my mind, and if I put it out there I have to be "responsible". That's all I was saying, perhaps a lot of people are like me (I'd like to think I'm not abnormal!! LOL).

Anyway definitely not a bad idea, I was interested after all I clicked, looked and responded :)

www.familytravelforum.com - Geared around Family Travel Vacations, Stories, Articles, Blogs etc..

This is a custom vivvo site that I built for one of my Clients.

Some of the custom features I built for them are:

Custom Style - This style is from the Ground Up (all new templates/css)

Multipage Articles (example: http://www.familytravelforum.com/what/resorts/13090-Club-Med-Punta-Cana-Dominican-Republic.html) This example is a 3 page article.

SSO (Single Sign On that keeps users logged in between the main vivvo site, the vBulletin Site and another CMS built with Ruby on Rails). vivvo is Bridge with vB, but the vB user system is controled via SSO.

Custom Trip Planning API. Users fill out a dynamic form, form is submitted, when staff answers the submission, API emails the client as well as creates an article based on some of the info submitted (Creates a Question/Answer type article). Other info is stored in the system for internal use only.

Custom GCSE (Google Custom Search Engine). This GCSE is also tied into the 3 main sites via SSO

Custom Rotating Images on Articles. Uses a combo between the default Abstract and Vivvo Image Gallery Plugin... ie, if there is only 1 image, it is static, if there are images added to the image gallery tab on an article, it grabs them and rotates them in place of the abstract image. example: http://www.familytravelforum.com/what/resorts/13090-Club-Med-Punta-Cana-Dominican-Republic.html

Custom Blogs Plugin - No need to reinvent the wheel, so I simply Modified the "Submit a Story" Plugin slightly.. well, a lot lol ....

Custom Article Status(s) - expanded on the default vivvo article status and created some additional "backend only" status's (mainly for BLOG and Hot Deals management) as well as some custom Front End Status's (for use with various Modules thoughout the site) (still more coming for future modules not yet released)

Custom Ads Plugin - again, no real need to reinvent the wheel.. started with vivvos Ad system, expanded on it... one feature that we are about to release on the site is Ads by Tag Name.. ie, they can sell ad space based on a "TAG" like "Budget" and if an article is tagged with "Budget" it will displays that companies ad, other wise it displays what ever Ad(s) it has for that Ad location..

Customized Review Plugin - Love the concept behind this plugin, so I modified it for their use (Resort Cards and Product Reviews). Extremely useable plugin released by vivvo that is beyond easy to modify (not sure why more people don't use this as at starting point)... Example can be seen here for the Resort Card: http://www.familytravelforum.com/what/resorts/13090-Club-Med-Punta-Cana-Dominican-Republic.html (2nd module on the right hand column) Example for the Product review: http://www.familytravelforum.com/how/shopping/13141-The-Model--U521-Reliable-Carry--Suitcase.html

Comments System Revamp - Coming soon!

Lots and Lots of Tweaks here and there.... it was a fun project to do.

hi there.. i was wondering if your header on this site is an xml file for the menu?? i have been trying to do this on one of my sites and cant seem to get it to work. i know it is due to the paths and i know flash very well. i have just never incorporated a flash and XML into a CMS. i have used absolute paths and still have had not luck.

i was wondering if you would post a short tutorial on how you got this to work.

i also like the Weather app your using. good work!
