I imported my data into the database, after installing it, there were a few import errors but most of the data went into it. There were some issues though...
1) Categories... when I click on one of them it won't populate the right field in either IE or Mozilla. So I can't edit any of the attributes of the categories that are defined.
2) Articles... when I click edit an article it does not populate the article form with the data... so I can't edit the content.
there are more, but the only thing I can conclude is that I wasn't supposed to import my data :) I've read a few things about no scripts being available for upgrade, I assumed that meant there was no "Quick and easy" method of moving up and I'd have to do a clean install, copy the necessary folders over, make the necessary changes in the conf files to accomodate my extra large database (65 megs as we speak I believe) and then import the data... I did that, and there seems to be quite a few issues.
Let me know if I'm right, if it _IS_ supposed to work, then I can make a comprehensive list of what isn't functioning for me, and provide access to the beta team so they can see for themselves anything they aren't able to recreate.
INITIAL OBSERVATIONS (for the rest of you who are waiting for a stable release and didn't want to load a beta):
This new 4.1 is far superior. While there are some pretty major line items going on right now from what I see, my page load times decreased 30% and that means a lot on my website (and I can only attribute that to the new caching system, processor utilization when someone comes into the website seemed to drop considerably as well - this in itself is reason to be excited for all of us who run high trafficked websites). The way it is layed out seems to make more sense, and there is a nifty toolbar on top to attach frequently used plugins. I've only scratched the surface here but I'm very excited about the direction that Vivvo is going in.
