instalation worked but no articles are being added on homepage

Hello,
i've tested the installation and its working, all admin features are working, i've added a writer and wrote an article and approved it from pending list

but going to the homepage it shows nothing, all .html pages doesn't show

is there any cron need to run or a scheduled job for creating those pages?

even /author/user doesn't exists when clicking the user on home page


Please advise.
