Two interfaces one database

I am wanting to carry out a project where I will have two interfaces and one database, if this possible? I have one interface active at the moment.

It depends. You can easily have 2 interfaces relying on the same database, but you cannot manage 2 interfaces within same administration. Maybe you should give some more details about this?

The reason wanting two interfaces and one database is that I am setting up a new url and wanting to close the other down and i want a transition period for SEO purposes, as I do not want to loose rankings.
