Hello, all:

I emailed sales@vivvo.net Monday or Tuesday to inquire about a quote for customizations, and am still waiting to hear back. I thought I would list the customization items here - perhaps someone here can tell me if at least these items are possible, or already exist; alternatively, if anyone here provides Vivvo mods as a service, he/she could PM me with a quote.

VBulletin integration - log-in only, not seeking extensive comment integration, or anything along those lines; I simply want a shared author/user log-in function;
Paid Author or membership module - (I think the VBull integration could be used for this - possibly) - allowing different author permissions/payment structures;
Multiple categories per article allowed.

I see that Vivvo is releasing a new version purportedly within a week - maybe that version includes this functionality or some portion of it - but I've been assessing various CMS' for over 4 months, and I've now narrowed it down to two...I should like to get rolling ASAP with whichever I end up choosing...so I'd like to get a feel for whether or not the mods I need are possible.

Also - can anyone tell me here how easy/difficult it has been for them to port existing MySQL databases over to Vivvo to upgrade an existing website with articles, authors, etc.?

Thanks,

Hitch

I see no records of such email? Can you please resend to support@vivvo.net? Perhaps there was a problem with spam filtar... Or send your phone number on PM and our sales representative will call you.

Anyhow, I'll answer here to your questions as well:

1. This is possible, however limited. We can do integration with vBulletin login system, but only up to a certain extent. We'll discuss details over email.
2. Not a problem at all
3. Hardly. The system needs deep rewriting to allow this, and at this point I don't think you'd be willing to pay for such a work. The new major release, 4.0 will have this as a native support, but it won't be out for at least two more months.

Porting existing DB to vivvo is not a problem at all, we can make you a filter to convert DB easily. As for new release coming this week (v3.4) it won't include multiple categories for single article.

If there's anything else we can help you with, please let me know. You can send me an email to my personal address as well (via Profile).
