I noticed this button today while typign an article, but didn't find anything in the forum search. What does it do? I tried it out and basically it just asked me to fill in an "anchor name" and that was that. Nothing changed on the page when it was published.
thanks

I am not a pro, but this is the way I understand anchors. Anchors are used to make links within a page. Suppose you want to create a FAQ page. You could place an anchor at the answer to each of your questions and then link to it from the question itself. That way people will not have to scroll down a long page to find what they are looking for.
So, you would type out all your questions at the top of your page. Then type out all your answers in separate or numbered paragraphs beneath. You would then place an anchor at each paragraph. You would then highlight each of your questions at the top of the page and turn it into a link to its respective anchor. The link would look something like this:
http://www.yoursite.com/yourcategory/yourpage.htm#youranchorname
Don't forget the # before your anchor name.
When people clicked on a question, they would be directed to the correct answer without having to scroll down the page. You can also link from other pages to that anchor.
