'More Top News' Doesn't Work!

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but I have searched for a solution and as of yet am still to find one, so . . .

When initially installing the software, the "More Top News" works fine, as it should. WITHOUT editing ANYTHING at all except for creating and editing more categories and articles, all of a sudden the "More Top News" area empties itself and stops working.

I feel that this feature is an integral part of any site created with this software and would really appreciate ANY help regarding this problem.

Did you check what's in Preferences? Or re-select categories for "More Top News" section? If this happens all of a sudden, please contact our support via HelpDesk.

Ooops! My fault, thanks.

Problem now is that it only shows the first news articles of each section instead of updating with the latest additions - is this normal?

Is there a way of controlling what it outputs? And in the most commented and popular areas, is it possible to display 10 items?

You can control this section via Preferences:

Admin -> Preferences -> Home Page -> Categories for "More Top News" section (use Ctrl for multiple)

Admin -> Preferences -> Home Page -> Number of articles per category

Most Popular and Commented number of titles can't be set via Admin. Only directly in files. We'll probably make this happen soon.

Thanks for responding, but I meant the More T|op News section doesn't update itself with latest or random articles, just the same five articles I first posted on the newly installed site.

Is it supposed to be like this or can I hack it to display random or latest added news?
