Custom static page is blank

I am trying out this:
http://www.vivvo.net/resources/how-to/custom-static-page.html

But the "test.php" page returns a blank page. I have placed it in the root of my site (Vivvo is also in root).

I have uploaded to box/test.tpl template.

Any ideas?

Doh! I had the wrong permission set for the file. :)

Anyway, it works like a charm. But is there any way to have members logged into external pages...? :)

I am unable to get these custom static pages work in subfolders. They throw a 404 not found error, even if I set the config path to '../conf.php'.

Really don't know what to tell you.
This is more of a php than template issue, and unfortunately I can't help you much :(
