Vivvo does have Newsletter plug-in, however it is not designed to serve 40,000 addresses and multiple lists, so in your case I recommend keeping 3rd party app. for mailing list management. It can be integrated with Vivvo very easily.

By all means yes. We even suggested OpenAds until we released our own Banner Management for 4.x branch.
Vivvo, phpList and OpenAds can all live happily ever after :)

one more thing. Do you have social links like digg, reddit, newsvine etc enabled on each post.

Yes, we have some of those, others can be added in seconds.
Is there any documentation or advice about intergrating 3rd party mailing lists into vivvo? I use ListMessenger Pro for one of my other sites but I like the way you can simply send a newsletter through the pre-built plugin. Our mailing list is over 5,000 addresses.
There can't be some all-round purpose documentation for integrating 3rd party. It varies on case by case basis.
Basically, it goes down to integrating mailing list subscribe/unsubscribe HTML code in template files (homepage, article pages, etc.) and using their own admin for dispatching newsletters... Not a rocket science, I reckon :)
If you post a specific question, I'd be happy to help you further.
