We just added two brand new plug-ins to our plug-in gallery, and I know you will all like the fact that both are free :D They can be downloaded from the Resource Center - hope you will enjoy using them as much as we did developing them :)
1. Submit Story
This plug-in will add an important social component to your website – user generated content. Submit story plug-in will allow members to easily submit their own news and articles. Your community will not only read articles you publish, but also provide very valuable contribution.
More info / download: http://www.vivvo.net/resources/downloads/Plug-ins/submit-story.html
2. Mobile / PDA
Mobile / PDA plug-in allows your visitors to easily browse your website using their mobile devices, PDAs and Blackberries. Although Vivvo is accessible via mobile devices by default, this plug-in is designed for maximum ease of use via mobile/PDA. It will introduce dedicated URL for accessing the website (http://www.example.com/mobile), with simplified version of the website, introducing only the important elements of navigation and content.
More info / download: http://www.vivvo.net/resources/downloads/Plug-ins/mobile.html (http://www.vivvo.net/resources/downloads/Plug-ins/mobile.html)
I would also like to use this thread to announce three upcoming plug-ins.
1. Banner Management - commercial plug-in that is already in public Beta for all Developer/Corporate license holders will be available for purchase by the end of the week
2. Form Builder - commercial plug-in, very powerful builder not only for "contact us" forms, but much much more. In development phase, will be out in February.
3. Wordpress Importer - free importer script for popular blogging platform that will import your entries, comments, tags, authors and categories to your Vivvo website. Available in February.

As one who moved from the FREE WordPress, which contains many of the basic features available in Vivvo plus a slew of FREE plug-ins and templates, I'm beginning to wonder about having been attracted to pretty appearance rather than substance. I will never stop buying to get real functionality that should be native to a paid publishing system. There's the open source OpenAds and any amount of free "contact us" forms around the Web for those who can't hack one together...
What's a CMS without a contact form? Sad.

How about the original license owners of Banner Plugin - Do we have to purchase that too? If we do what is the price?

Previous owners of Banner Management plug-in will not have to pay for it.
With regards to contact form questions - this plug in is not just a contact form builder, it is a generic form builder. This means you'll be able to create unlimited number of any kind of forms with it for your website.

Your right what's News Site without Contact forum
With regards to contact form questions - this plug in is not just a contact form builder, it is a generic form builder. This means you'll be able to create unlimited number of any kind of forms with it for your website.Still, VV should come with a standard Contact Form. What sort of CMS has no Contact Form? Some of us may not need all the fancy "create unlimited number " of forms business.

BOCCIO:
On 01-23-2008 you said "will be available for purchase by the end of the week". That week ended on 01-26-2008, and the banner manager is not available for license owners or for purchase.
This is what I meant when I stated in this thread that a more complex script is better to use than a statement that has no precision in its reliability. Vivvo is good, but when I start to see this kind of unreliable statements, then there is issue with Spoonlabs policy statements.
Best Regards.

... it's $30. Come on, are you really upset over a one time fee of $30? These guys are writing code for you. It's not easy work and good programmers don't come cheap.
I say keep the commercial plugins coming and thanks you Vivvo for every one. I'd rather buy a plugin from the developer than an outside source any day of the week. Plus, I get to pick and choose the plugins that I want 'A la carte' style rather than pay $2000 for an app that's bloated with features I really don't need.
Thumbs up to the staff and keep 'em coming!!

Banner Management was paid plugin in 3.5 version, and it is paid plugin now. I fail to see what is such an issue here?

If you want free banner management software, download OpenAds (www.openads.org).

Hold on everyone. Banner manager was not a paid plugin for the version I paid for. It has been said all along that 4.0 was released without major components that were part of the original program. During the time of the license I got, I was entitled to upgrades for 6 mos. When 4.0 came out, banner manager and contact form generator were eliminated and the poll plugin allows people to vote numerous times. The banner manager was supposed to be "pushed to your client download area" but never was.
At this stage of the game, if I have to pay for upgrades that should have been part of any "new" release FINE.
Specifically I want CLEAR answers to these problems. I am sick of scouring the forum for the same things over and over.
1) I need the banner manager. Where do I get it. I dont care if I have to pay even though I believe I should not.
2) I have long ago installed Formfields (www.formfields.com) to compensate for lack of contact form builder but is there one now and where can I get it? I dont care if I have to pay even though I dont think I should have to.
3) Has the PROBLEM with people being able to vote numerous times on a poll been solved? If so, what do I need to do to solve the problem?
4) Has the problem with Vivvo being reliant on Vivvo licensing servers being down and squashing our administrative interfaces been CHANGED and how can I fix my current installations. I definitely should not have to pay for that and no Vivvo user back to day one should either :)
Should I wait for the final release of 4.03 and does that version solve all of the above??????
I dont mind paying for good stuff but I feel a bit "run around" on this deal. I got six months of upgrades and the one upgrade that came out was missing major components that I had in my initial purchase. It was promised that they'd all be fixed and free for the version but it seems not the case now. I no longer care. If I need to pay, Im ready to get this thing riding on both rails :)
I appreciate Vivvo very much and I like the style that you guys let it all hang out in the forums. Dont start sugar-coating stuff!! One guy wrote that "the license is a little bit smoky...." and its beginning to lean in that direction in some areas. Not to mention, new plugins and such are coming out while KNOWN existing problems remain unaddressed for WEEKS.
I would appreciate clear concise and accurate information that addresses my 4 points above.
I apologize if I am misguided or simply not seeing things that may be hiding in plain sight :D
Hold on everyone. Banner manager was not a paid plugin for the version I paid for.
It was. Trust me on that one.

Strange choice of words. They were not "eliminated", they just weren't ready. What's so strange with that? Do you happen to know any software vendor at all that waits with new platform release until they have all the additional resources migrated to new platform? I don't... Just look at Mozilla...
The banner manager was supposed to be "pushed to your client download area" but never was.
Banner Managemnet is pushed to the client area of every Developer customer, as far as I know. If I recall correctly, you do not own a Developer license, however you do have the status (like couple of other members) due to your very valuable input to Vivvo in the past.
If the plugin was not pushed to your account, please let me know your client area email via PM, and I'll see to that.
At this stage of the game, if I have to pay for upgrades that should have been part of any "new" release FINE.
They are not part of anything. They are plug-ins. But, as we said a lot of times in the past - ones who had those plug-ins in earlier version will get new ones without any additional charge.

1) If you had it before, you will have it now without any additional charge. As any other plugin purchased in 3.5 version
2) Same as above, just contact me via PM, you still have the developer/beta tester status so you will get those. Btw, you should check this out (http://www.vivvo.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2576).
3,4) Yes, the licensing issue (among other things) is changed in 4.0.3 patch, and you're free to download and install Beta2, or wait for final release.

Ok, you're right on the paid plugins. Nevertheless, my point was I had them when I first got licensed.
As for the Mozilla example, lets say they had a feature called "Bookmarks". You would not find future releases that didn't have "Bookmarks". There may not have been enhancements to "Bookmarks" but they would be in there for sure.
On the other stuff I'll wait for the next release. Will article management be part of the next release or will it not be ready?? Just kidding ;)
I've always said that Vivvo, and the Vivvo team, is the best, hands-down, so I dont want anyone to think that I have changed my mind :)
2. Form Builder - commercial plug-in, very powerful builder not only for "contact us" forms, but much much more. In development phase, will be out in February. You know...I bought this Form Builder tonight and I'm so pissed off it has no anti-spam feature whatsoever, considering what bots are doing to unprotected forms out there. NONE!
Or am I missing something? Please correct me if I am wrong, cause I could have spent the same amount of money to get something better secured out there.
