Changing Meta Description - SEO & and other question

Im sorry i have comeup with another bunch of basic probably foolish questions but i hope you will not mind as im in the learning process here.

The questions are as under:

1) How do i change the meta description for the site www.azadarnews.com as it is presently saying phpwordpress ................

2) Do i have to write keywords for everynews that we publish or does the system pick up the keywords itself too ?

3) What format do i put the keywords in e.g. (news,business,trade,science)without spaces in between < or > ( news, business, trade, science ) with spaces after the comma - or is there another way to do it ?

4) how long does it take for the searchengines to pick up the site as my stats show a number of spider visits but my site is no where to be seen in any of the search engines

5) I have a few categories in the navigation bar but if i put something in the announcement category it brings it up at the top of latest news - is there a way to have new announcements without them showing up in latest news section?

6) if i want to hide a main category but show the subcategories of that main category - how do i go about doing it ?

7) my site is still running on the sever time whereas i want it to run according to GMT which is mytime here - how do i change that ?

8) Is it possible and am i allowed to have this script reinstalled on the sub domains of my existing site so i can run a parallel site for articles and connect it on the navigation bar ? if allowed is there a limit to the number off subdomainsi can install it on ? what im thinking is having a parallel site on a subdomain for each category making it look like a home page for that category news.

9) what do you reckon is the best, easiest and costeffective way to get good search engine ranking in the news category

I'm in the process of doing this in my sites and found the tags in the include/header.php file

1. You're right Elton, header.php is the place :)

2. No you don't, the system automatically generates META description and keywords based on article title, cagegory, etc. However you may enter your own at any time in SE Options of you wish.

3. Normal words, comma separated.

4. It depends on Engines (when will they include you in the main index) as well as your domain. Looking by some analysis of ours, and feedback from clients - this can take from couple of days to couple of weeks.

5. You can easily re-order articles in Article Management via drag'n'drop. Alternatively, you can adjust ordering by date, or any other parameter.

6. Not sure I understand? You probably can't do it... Hide main category from navigation, but show only subs?

7. Are you refering to dates for published articles? You can do this when you pick a date from JavaScript calendar. We'll add the feature for changing time zones soon.

8. Yes, you can do that as long as they are under same Top-Level domain name. Feel free to make several instances (sub-domains), that is not a problem at all.
