Hi,
I'm new to the forum. So new, I haven't received my software yet!
Can the archive calendar be replaced with a link to a main page where all archived articles can be listed under month/year?
If someone is looking for a particular article, and know the subject, dates may not mean anything to them.
Hi Phil, thanks for joining us :)
Actually, you can list the months/years with the calendar as well. Just select from drop-down in calendar instead clicking on particular date.
Of course, you can also create links in navigation to particular month/year using "Redirect Link" option in Category Management (create a 'false' category, and force it to open particular month of calendar by putting its link in 'redirect link' box of category).
Hope this helped

Hi Alex,
I think I understand what you are saying. But what I would like is a list of archived article headlines (links) that can be displayed on one page. Like a site map list but with year/month as categories.
Phil,
It can't be done with a default installation. A hack is needed to accomplish what you describe, and we'll try making one soon.

Actually, one thing crosses my mind (sorry Mark :D)
The archive calendar can be accessed via browser in following format:
http://www.example.com/?month=X&day=YY&year=ZZZZ
where:
X - month (1-12)
YY - day (1-31)
ZZZZ - year (2004,2005, etc.)
So what you can do, is create a "static" page that will serve as hub for archived articles. You can't display headlines, but you can have monts/years displayed.
i.e. to display link for whole 2005, just put:
http://www.example.com/?year=2005
for April 2004, put:
http://www.example.com/?month=4&year=2004
etc...

This piece of software is awesome for magazines & newspapers. I would like to ask if there were a possibility to implement a news archive feature that will display, when clicked on a date, the exact structure of an edition, as it was displayed on that day. An example would be this:
http://www.opiniastudenteasca.ro/?cat_id=&cal_tim=Mar:2007
and this
http://www.opiniastudenteasca.ro/?cat_id=&cal_tim=Apr:2007
Note how the whole content has changed. Can this be achieved in Vivvo?
