Hi,

Turning on the caching mechanism seems to break the poll. With caching turned on, when you try to vote it just repeats the header of the poll "Poll - Like our new look?". If you press the vote three times, it will have three of those. It doesnt vote though.

I just moved the testing intallation from /news/ to the document root, replacing v3.5 with 4.2. I did remove all files from 3.5 beforehand and all of the data and such imported and works fine with no trouble.

When the installation was in /news/ while we were developing, the poll wouldnt let you vote twice. It displayed a notice "you already voted in this poll" or something. Now (with caching turned off obviously), you can be logged in and vote and it wont let you vote again, but if you logout you can vote again anonamously. You can do this any number of times.

Not sure why moving the installation would cause these behaviours but any insight would be appreciated! I'd like to have the caching mechanism turned on for obvious reasons but also need the polls :)

Thanks for any help!

We shall investigate this on Monday. Meanwhile - anybody else having a similar experience?

Still having the issue.

1) Caching mechanism caches poll for all visitors during the cache period as well as the behaviour described in my previous post.

2) You can vote on a poll (there was supposed to be a "only registered users can vote on polls") setting according to threads pertaining to V3.5 and the impending 4.0 release, but notwithstanding, anyone can vote, and also if they login and then logout they can also vote yet again... over and over.

Thanks!

This is known issue and will be fixed in 4.0.3 patch.

Any idea when 403 is coming out?

We have some bonehead who has figured out how to login, then logout and re-vote on the poll... over and over and over (which prompted my initial post).

We still have the original poll up as making any new ones would be redundant

thanks

4.0.3 is in alpha now, and should be available as public beta by the end of this week at latest.
