Is there any way I can tell whether my whole mailing list has been emailed properly? All I get at the moment is:
Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... Working ... (loads more rows like this)
then:
... error: 2 : Warning
If I try to do anything then, it appears to have timed me out and I have to log in again.
Also, it didn't like it when I put an apostrophe in the subject line. Instead of ', it read ’

Punctuation in the body of the text was weird, too:
£10 came out as £10.00
Anglers' Net came out as Anglers’ Net
Please refer to Support ticket Ref: BXZ-91207-595, this problem is sorted out.

It doesn't appear to be working, still, so I have submitted another support request.
Out of a mailing list of 15,000, it appears to have got as far as the ones beginning with a 'c' :(
The problem with large amount of emails is actually out of the scope for PHP mail() function (that's the one dispatching emails to your SMTP server).
Some webhosts limit the number of emails a person can send at a time (spam issues). Check your server administrator and ask him/her about this.

Hi Alex,
I've contacted the ISP and got this:
"I have checked with my collegues who have informed me that there are no limits, but if you try to send them all at once then the emails will start to fail. You should make sure the script is setup so that it sends the emails in batches so that not all are going at once. This should resolve the problem you are experiencing."
I've also added this to my support ticket.
Cheers,
Elton

Im facing the same problem too - My host restricts to max of 400 per hour and i have a list of around 4000 subscribers.
I thing we all surely need a patch to break the message dispatch according to the webhost restrictions.
I would suggest an input field per hour so we can place e.g. 400 and the script breaks up the email dispatch acordingly.
Help is surely needed as i tried changing the host but everyone says i cannot send such big number of emails at once.
thanks
OK, this is definitely something we need to attend to. We shall try to make a quick mod to Newsletter plugin to allow manual control of dispatched emails.
We'll do it in next 48 hrs.

Yes, it will be available for download. However, this is not a "patch". The mailing list we have (old one) works perfectly, however it is not designed to support large mailing lists. You can always purchase 3rd party software to handle mailing lists of 50.000 addresses, or so.
This is upgraded version of MailingList plugin, and it is a free plugin.

Azadarnews.com - To be fair, they sent me an update to test on Tuesday, but it required me having access to Cron Jobs on my server, which I don't. I've explained this to them and, hopefully, they are looking at a work around. I haven't heard back, though.
Boccio - What size mailing list, eaxactly, will the standard version handle and how do we extract the email addresses to use it with an external package?
I am desperate to use my mailing lists :(
Cheers all,
Elton

Hi,
Just to let you know that I replied to the support ticket today. To do what you requested, I need SSH access set up. This is not something I am familiar with.
Not being a techy, I thought it may work similar to my Invision Power Board forum, which sends out the 9000+ emails in chunks of 50.
I'm really desperate to find a solution :(
