Hi
may be i'm paranoid but i wanna ask a question. Is Vivvo talking home to the mothership?

The reason why i'm thinking it. Earlier (2:52 CET) i wanted to login to my admin area, after hitting the login button, i got a Server not found error.

But the thing is, that this wasn't a problem on my server. The Server was running fine, without any problems.

Then i wanted to check vivvo.net which was down at the same time.

So my question, is vivvo connecting with another server upon admin login? Because if it is, it really sucks, i wanna login everytime i want, not only when vivvos server is up and running.

I guess it'S a step to check if the license is valid, but there are so many other ways to do it. it can't be the right thing.

PS: 3:24 (CET) vivvo.net was up again and so i could login in my vivvo admin.

Are you saying if this server goes offline, I can't use the application as an Admin? I hope not...

At the moment, the licensing mechanism is checking the validity against our licensing server. I agree this is not the best possible scenario, and we are working on amending this to local-check.

No worries, the server won't go offline, and no one will experience any problems with regards to this.

yes, Sola.

I know it won't happen and you guys do an excellent job. but i'm a little bit concerned about it. What happens if the server gets hacked and must be shutdown or some dos attacks or whatever the "BAD GUYS" using these days. or the hardware needs to be replaced or or or or or or or or or .....

I have had a terrible experience with a couple of applications that are now discontinued, and of course, my installation became absolutely useless. Money and time down the drain. I expect this to be a long term relationship with this company, but this will not work. I will subscribe to any other kind of security check you want that doesn't cripple my valid installation.

Thanks a lot.

I apologize for bumping such an old thread, but. . .
Does the current version [v4.1] still have a call home function that cripples the admin section?

Not anymore. This was changed long time ago.
