Subcategory articles showing in main category?

Just getting used to the system - but something I'm not certain of is that articles in subcategories don't appear to be showing in the main category.

Is this user error, and is there a setting to allow a main category to display articles from the subcategories?

Or is it the case that each category will only show articles posted within that category, to the exclusion of subcategories?

That's not a bug, that's a feature :) Main category cannot display articles from the subcategories, we dropped this idea for it would clutter the category page.

It would certainly be a great idea to see this as an option in future releases, or a custom mod to allow it.

I think you may be selling on the platform of phpwordpress being article publisher software - but I personally see great potential in it as a news portal platform, which is actually one of my main reasons for buying a developers licence. :)

At the moment, you *have* to show the sub-categories in the menu (I believe), otherwise visitors can't find the articles.

i.e. I get a page like this:

Although there are 4 sub categories with articles in.

True. You're both right about this, so I created small hack to display subcategory links in category page, so visitors can see it directly above/below category title.
