My users are registered to vBulletin using a third software package called handshake. In this instance the user tables are synchronis; i.e. when you resister in handshake the vBulletin tables are also populated.

Do I read correctly that with the vBulletin/Vivvo integration the actual vBulletin user tables are used? therefore when they are populated through handshake vivvo will be able to use the user information?

Sorry

Handshake is a social networking program created by Dzoic inc. It has a script to synchronize user databases between their program and vBulletin.

What I really want to know is; does vivo use Vbulletins' user database and login session information. When I register on Handshake I am also registered on the VBulletin site. When I login on Handshake a session is started in vBulletin. If the user database and session information are run off vBulletin then Vivvo, vBulletin, and Handshake should run in series

There was a long thread which discussed (among other Sns's), Handshakes. How do you like it?

Yes it does.

I hope so, but we never tried Handshake :) I'd be very happy to hear if it works for you.

In case anyone is interested. I was able (pretty easily, about 6 hours of work) to link the user databases of handshake(community software), vbulletin (forum), vivvo (cms), and photopost (gallery). they all use the same style sheets and run off the handshake registration system. photopost has an auction and classified system i will try to integrate next. i'll keep everyone posted. I'd show off my site but it's still in development

Ok I am confused... I am also looking at buying this script but only if it meets my needs. I am currently using vbadvanced.

I see that it's a single sign on, that's nice. My question is when a post is made in the news section on my forums does it show up on vivvo front end or vice verse. Also if someone comments does this show up in the forums?

Comment integration works in the following manner:

Once somebody posts the very first comment on an article, a thread in vB is created by ArticleBot. From that point on, latest n comments from the thread are pulled on the article (Vivvo) page as "latest comments", and every respective user who clicks on "post a comment" is taken to corresponding thread inside vBulletin.

Hope this makes it clear :)

Is it a completely new thread or does it correspond with the article that is posted on the front end of Vivvo?

In vbadvanced script I tell it where my news thread is (IE thread number) and every time I post a new topic in that thread it shows up on the front page of vbadvanced, is that how this works?

I never used vbadvanced, so I'm not sure how it works, but basically one thread in vB corresponds to one article in Vivvo.
