how to get categories in the middle of the site like mercedsearch?

Use {BOX_CATEGORY_HEADERS} tag from index.tpl and place it in the middle colum of your site. Hence, go to Administration -> Preferences -> Categories & Articles -> and CTRL+select all categories you wish to have there.

That's how I did it :P

Please can you tell me more about this , i mean how to input in index.tpl

because i did like this
{BOX_entertainment}

and
{BOX_CATEGORY_HEADERS}


not showing , in main page please can i have little details......

I'm not sure I understand what you want to do. Where did you find {BOX_entertainment} ?

What exactly do you want to accomplish?
