Database Importer plug-in will import your categories, articles, comments and users from Vivvo 3.5 version into 4.0. This importer does not work for versions prior to v3.5. Please note that version 4.0 only works with utf-8 encoding, so you have to manually convert backup file from your encoding to utf-8.
Important: Please do not keep Db Importer on your file system because it poses a security threat.
You need to access to the Plug-ins section. Click on the Plug-ins link which is located in the Main menu at the top of your administration panel.

You should have all the installed plug-ins listed on your left-hand side.

A list of all plug-ins currently registered to the system is displayed on the right hand side of the screen.

To install DB importer you need to click on the install icon on the right side of the plug-in name.

This will take you to the page with the installation link: Click here to Install the plug-in

After you run the installation, you will be informed that the plug-in was successfully installed.
You may easily go back to the Plug-ins page, by following the link: Click here to go to Plug-in

To uninstall DB Importer you need to click on the uninstall icon on the right side of the plug-in name.

This will take you to the page with the link for uninstall: Click here to Uninstall the plug-in

You will be informed that the plug-in was successfully uninstalled and you may return to the Plug-ins page by clicking the link: Click here to return to Plug-in home page

The path to the DB Importer plug-in:
Click on Plug-ins link (which is located in Main menu at the top of your administrator panel)
Choose DB Importer plug-in from the list of all installed plug-in (on the left side of the screen)
This plug-in can be accessed only by users with administrator-level privileges.
First, you must make sure that your backup file is in the utf-8 encoding. Upload the backup file via FTP to /your_vivvo_install_root/files/db_importer/ folder.
Go to the administration, and choose the file for import.

After successful import your data will be restored. Make sure to UNINSTALL and DELETE the Db Importer plug-in, because it poses a security risk if left active and deleted it from plug-in folder.
