Disqus comments

Uses the Disqus comment system to enhance comments on your website. Disqus makes commenting easier and more interactive, while connecting websites and commenters across a thriving discussion community.

Description

Disqus® plug-in provides you with full Disqus® integration, allowing Disqus® to fully take control over Vivvo comments.

Through this integration you also gain access to other interesting features Disqus® offers, such as:

  • Connect Your Conversations
  • Say Hello to Millions of Commenters
  • Experience Real-time Discussions
  • Spread the Chatter
  • The Very Best Tools
  • Know Your Audience

While installing Disqus into most web sites is not hard, this is even easier solution to integrating it with Vivvo CMS.

Pre-installation Steps

Prior to installing the plug-in itself, you should create a Disqus® profile. Head over to http://www.disqus.com/comments/ and click Sign in. Follow on screen instructions and make sure to note down Site Shortname. You will need it in Vivvo plug-in installation procedure.

How to Install?

To install Disqus plug-in you need to click on the install icon on the right side of the plug-ins name.

This will take you to the page with the following fields. Just fill-in the value for Site Shortname you noted earlier:

Do not go any further in the installation until you have provided this Site Shortname. If you forgot to note it, you can visit Disqus® web page, login and find it in the Settings section.

After you enter this information, press the Next button to proceed with the installation.

You will be informed that the plug-in was successfully installed and configured.

Actions

If you go to front page of some of your Articles, you will notice the comments section (usually bottom of the page) looks different.

Make sure to explore Disqus® and use its full potential unlocked in your favorite Vivvo CMS.

After installing Dusqus, changing Vivvo URL format could make old comments unavailable. This limitation of Disqus is solvable only by providing manually created URL map. For more information please visit http://help.disqus.com/entries/202864-moving-comments-to-a-new-domain-thread-migration
